Home ▫ Students ▫ Tips/Support Campus Pack integrates social learning tools into Blackboard making wikis, blogs, journals and podcasts available for course assignments. Instructors can use wikis for collaborative projects, blogs to foster communication skills, and podcasts to enable learning on-the-go. Assessment tools give instructors insight into the students’ learning process and progress. Personal Learning Spaces is an online space for every individual to create and publish content outside the course with ready access to peers, courses, and organizations. As a part of this process, collaborative spaces called Community Areas can be created for academic and administrative departments, clubs, teams, and other groups. Dr. Nancy Rubin is an experienced educator, trainer, and practitioner, with over 10 years of experience in e-learning. She has incorporated blogs, wikis, and podcasts in her own teaching and has conducted numerous trainings and workshops on social software for learning. Dr Rubin works with Learning Objects (the Company that provides UMKC with Campus Pack) as an educational technology strategist. Here is a link to her blog that provides many ideas for using Campus Pack: Objects of Interest. Remember that there are many posts to a blog so be sure to click Next at the bottom or top of the blog to see additional entries.
