Prospective International Exchange Partner Students ... Welcome to UMKC!

Have you been selected to be an exchange student at UMKC through a partner university?  Congratulations!  Please contact the UMKC Study Abroad Coordinator (Kate Wozniak) as soon as possible at international@umkc.edu and get started on the steps below so that you may be considered for admission to UMKC as an exchange student!

PLEASE NOTE, EXCHANGE STUDENTS NEED TO SEND ORIGINAL,  HARD COPIES OF ALL DOCUMENTS TO:

(We will hand deliver your documents to the appropriate department and have the $50 application fee waived since you come from a partner school).  We will contact you upon receipt. 

Step 1
International Student Application Form and follow the application instructions - be sure to include everything required on checklist.  (ALL required materials must be mailed directly to Kate Wozniak at the Center for International Academic Programs (CIAP).

Step 2Exchange Student Information Form - this needs to be attached to the application

Step 3.  You will automatically be enrolled and billed for the UMKC insurance plan (UMKC International Student Insurance Information) unless you bring proof of adequate coverage.  CLICK HERE to determine if you might qualify. 

Step 4.  Secure your housing before arrival to Kansas City! 

Please note:  Admission to the University
does not guarantee that you will receive University housing.  Students are not required to live on campus.  You are responsible for arranging your own housing.  UMKC is not responsible for your housing location or situation.

International Exchange Partner Students must arrive on campus on or before Aug ... (we will let you know soon)!
The residence halls will make special arrangements for international exchange student to move in on Aug .... (to be announced soon).  If you arrive earlier (and are living in the residence halls) you will need to make other arrangements.

Health Insurance Regulations/Waiver Information
ATTENTION: You will be automatically enrolled and billed for the UMKC international student insurance plan at the beginning of each semester (UMKC International Student Insurance Information) unless you bring proof of adequate coverage.  If you qualify, a waiver must be approved by ISAO and turned in at the Cashier's Office within 31 days of the start of each semester (both Fall and Winter/Spring).
