The CIAP Mission

UMKC’s Center for International Academic Programs seeks to increase the internationalization of this campus by supporting and encouraging academic programs and initiatives that are international in focus.  In particular, it works to expand and strengthen the number and quality of international study abroad, research, and fellowship opportunities available to UMKC’s students and faculty.  It does so through a variety of initiatives, including:  the promotion and coordination of intercultural programs on campus; the promotion and coordination of study abroad and international exchange programs; the development of collaborative relations with institutions abroad; the development of policy guidance and program direction for international programs; and the coordination of UMKC’s involvement in the nationally competitive, prestigious fellowships and scholarships programs.
