preferred deadline 2/28It is possible for students to participate in programs not listed below with approval from the Study Abroad Coordinator, Academic Advisor(s) and Financial Aid. Without the approval of these offices, you will not receive credit for your studies. In accordance with the UM System Guidelines, students may not participate in study abroad programs in countries with current travel warnings issued by the State Department.

The Kingston University Summer School is open to current university students at all levels, of any nationality. The program is aimed at students who have a specific interest in the United Kingdom and its cultural history. The classes offered are lower division classes and are open to students taking any degree course or major. Program information

Learn French. You will live with a French family during this six-week immersion program at the Centre International d'Études Françaises of the Université de Lyon II. The program runs every summer from mid-June to late-July – earn up to 9 credit hours! Program WebsiteGermany

Hochschule Bremen: International Summer School of German language, Culture and Business.A four week summer program with a selection of courses available in English or German, includes German language study. Business courses in English vary and include international management and finance. Six - nine credit hours of academic credit are available. Language proficiency is not required. Student housing or placement with a German family is arranged by the school. Cultural trips and business visits are planned by staff at the Hochschule.

Join the Classical and Ancient Studies department for a program entitled Homer's Greece: In Search of the Trojan War. Beginning in Athens and ending in Troy, this two week, six credit hour, program will include participating in dig site activities, daily lecture/discussion and travel to the major sites referred to in Homer's works. Through literature, lecture and hands on experience, the world of ancient Greece will be juxtaposed with the modern literature, unearthing the living legacy of Greece today: a modern society among the ruins of the past.

This four-week program will offer students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the interplay of history, nature, and culture in Sweden, using Uppsala and the surrounding area as a model. Please note that places on the program are limited and honors students have priority if we receive more than 15 applicants. Honors students do not have to write an essay or furnish letters of recommendation. All other students must do so to be considered for the program.
