Application for Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Study
Instructions for international students
  • Review of an application for admission starts when all required application information and documentation and the $50 application fee has been received.

  • Admission deadlines vary among disciplines: some have strict deadlines; while others have rolling admission. Early application and admission is often required to be eligible for financial aid.

  • When informed of admission, the applicant must complete the OnLine Acceptance of Admission Form. The website of the International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) contains a link to this form.

  • Actual admission of international students requires valid US entry visa. When instructed by the School of Graduate Studies, the International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) will issue immigration papers but issuing of visa cannot be guaranteed.
Valid F1 visa can be obtained from a US Embassy or Consulate when I-20 immigration papers, prepared and sent by ISAO, are presented together with a valid passport.

  • Once final travel arrangements have been made for arrival at UMKC, ISAO must be informed of the date and mode of the expected arrival through an OnLine form
