| General Information |
|
Learning Objects is a suite of additional tools in Blackboard that includes the ability to create Blogs
and Wikis. It also has a Search feature to find information within courses. Engage students in the
online learning experience and increase the effectiveness of the e-learning environment. Use the same tools to
create online workspaces for committee and project work.

| Blogs |
|
Experience the power of blogging (a "web log" or online journal designed to be updated
frequently).
The Blog Tool is an application that allows instructors and students to create public or private,
rich media blogs; and journals reflecting on course topics, projects, thoughts or ideas.
Students can review and comment on their peers' postings, and instructors can participate with
students in the evolving dialog. Students can consider and explore course readings, class
discussions, or field experiences. Through the Blogs (journals), the instructor gains ready
insight into students’ experiences in the course, and can efficiently provide individualized
feedback.

| Wikis |
|
Build knowledge by building wikis (a collaboratively built website).
Use the Wiki Tool to collaboratively author content, research and group projects within the
context of a website. This is a great way for instructors to create group assignments. Students
work cooperatively to formulate, write, and publish their solutions in the form of websites.
This task encourages students to think critically and analytically as they evaluate and
organize relevant content.

| Search |

Find the right content fast.
Use Search LX to find course content with speed and accuracy. The search box and advanced
searching options streamline content retrieval. Enter keywords or phrases, search all of a
course’s content, and see the search results in seconds. Search LX only returns documents,
announcements, calendar entries, etc. that are available to the user. Users will not be able to
retrieve information they do not have permission to access.
