The workstations in the Ideal Learning Environment (ILE) classrooms have two types of software loaded, general software and specialized software.
-
General software includes the MS Office suite and other software that all UMKC faculty/students may find useful, regardless of their major.
-
Specialized software is class-specific software that only faculty/students in certain degree tracks will need. This software varies depending on which ILE classroom you are using.
IS maintains a consistent, stable computing environment in all of the ILE classrooms. Ensuring this level of quality means limiting the available software for the most part to those applications faculty request to support their teaching initiatives. New software is added three times a year, at the start of each semester. Software submissions are subject to review for proper licensing and compatibility with the existing software set. Bloch School faculty should check with the IT Liaison in the Dean's office before sending software requests.
The deadline for software requests is three weeks prior to the first day of class for each regular semester.
The new software request form, which contains further instructions, can be found here.
