Windows Mobile Certificate Update
UMKC uses SSL encryption to protect the communications between Windows Mobile devices and the Exchange email server.
In order to continue protecting the access from your Windows Mobile device, you will need to update the certificates on your Windows Mobile device before December 1st, 2010.
To update the certificates on your Windows Mobile device:
- From your Windows Mobile Device, start Internet Explorer
- From Internet Explorer on your device, type the web address:
http://www.umkc.edu/exchange/umcertlist.cab
and hit enter or the go button to start the download - Internet Explorer will give you a download prompt. At this prompt select 'Open file after download' and click Yes to continue the download.
- The certificate list will install on your device. After it has installed, click OK on the success window.
Once you have this update on your Windows Mobile device, you will be ready to automatically use the new encryption certificate we will use on the email server. No further changes will be needed when we make the change to the server in December.
