How to Use Your 7960 IP Telephone


Below are instructions on how to use the features on your 7960 IP Phone.

AUTHORIZATION CODE

Authorization codes are currently not available from the 7960 IP Phones. Long distance call blocking is available upon request.

CALL FORWARD

(To activate from phone)
Without lifting handset, press CFwdAll soft key… (you will hear 2 beeps and Speaker button light lights) dial four-digit number where calls are to be forwarded…(Speaker button light goes out).

(To cancel from phone)
Press CFwdAll soft key (you will hear 2 beeps and Speaker light flashes on and off once).

(To activate away from phone)
From a web browser go to the URL: https://umkccm01.umkc.edu/ccmuser/logon.asp. Enter your account name and password then click the log on button. In the Select a device to configure window select the 7960 phone option. Select the menu option Forward all calls to a different number. Type in the number to forward all calls to and click the update button. Click the OK button to update your phone.

CALL PARK

During call press more soft key… Press Park soft key…write down the number displayed after Parked at… Go to another IP phone and dial Parked at number to pick up call at new location.

CALL PICKUP

(To respond)
Lift handset…(hear dial tone)…press the more soft key, press the Pickup soft key… press the Answer soft key …hear caller.

CALL TRANSFER

(To activate)
Press Trnsfer soft key…(first call is placed on automatic hold)…dial number…when you hear ringing press Trnsfer soft key again or when party answers announce call and press Trnsfer…hang up.

CALL WAITING

(To Respond)
Press Answer soft key…(first call is placed on automatic hold). After hanging up second call to resume talking to first call pick up hand set and press the Resume soft key.

CONFERENCE

(Standard add users)
Call first party… Press more soft key… Press Confrn soft key… Place call to another person… Press Confrn soft key again to add this person to conference call… Repeat procedure to add additional conferees (up to six parties, including yourself).

DIRECTORY

Press the directories button…Select option 4 Corporate Directory… Spell any part of the person’s First Name, Last Name, or phone number and press Search soft key… You will get a list of all the matching entries…Highlight the entry you want and press Dial soft key.

LAST NUMBER REDIAL

Lift handset press Redial soft key.

PERSONAL FAST DIALS

(To program up to 99 entries)
From a web browser go to this URL: https://umkccm01.umkc.edu/ccmuser/logon.asp.
Enter your account name and password then click the log on button. In the Select a device to configure window select the 7960 phone option. Subscribe to the Service Personal Fast Dials, see SERVICES for directions on how to subscribe to a service. Click on the Configure your Cisco Personal Address Book menu option. Click on the Fast Dials option on the right side of your screen. Click on any entry you want to edit or an (unassigned) entry to add a new one. Click the circle next to Enter in a directory number and type the phone number in the box below. Click the insert button at the top of the screen. Within a few minutes the new service and fast dial option will be ready to use.

(To use)
Press the services button…Highlight the service Personal Fast Dials and press the Select soft key…Highlight the number you want to dial and press the Dial soft key.

SERVICES

(To Access)
Press the services button…Highlight the services you want to use and press the Select soft key… Following any additional instruction on the screen. Remember that some services do Internet web searches, so response may be slow or unavailable at times.

(To Subscribe)
From a web browser go to the URL: http://umkccm01.umkc.edu/ccmuser/logon.asp
Enter your account name and password then click the log on button. In the Select a device to configure window select the 7960 phone option. Select the menu option Configure your Cisco IP phone Services. In the Select a Service window highlight the service you want and click the Continue button then click the Subscribe button. This service will now appear in the column on the left had side of your screen under Your Subscribed Services and available to use from your phone.

(To Unsubscribe)
From a web browser go to the URL: http://umkccm01.umkc.edu/ccmuser/logon.asp
Enter your account name and password then click the log on button. In the Select a device to configure window select the 7960 phone option. Select the menu option Configure your Cisco IP phone Services. Select the service you want to remove from list on the left had side of your screen under Your Subscribed Services. Click the Unsubscribe button and then click the OK button in pop up window that appears.

SPEED CALL

(To program)
From a web browser go to this URL: http://umkccm01.umkc.edu/ccmuser/logon.asp
Enter your account name and password then click the log on button. In the Select a device to configure window select the 7960 phone option. Click on the ADD/Update your Speed Dial buttons menu option. Fill in the numbers and display text for 1, 2, 3, or 4 speed dial buttons. Remember to include 9 for off campus numbers and the area code if needed. Click the update button. Within a few minutes the display on your phone should reflect the display text for the speed dial buttons.

VIEW MISSED, RECEIVED, OR PLACED CALLS

Push the directories button. Select Missed Calls, Received Calls, or Placed Calls to see a list of these calls. With one of the calls highlighted press the Dial soft key to call that number.
