	Policies and Guidelines

The following policies and guidelines should be read before purchasing a University Funded Cellular Phone:

Mobile Computing Devices - For purchasing information on university-owned and supported PDAs and cell phones, UMKC departments should contact IS Networking and Telecommunications at x1444 or email churchmanm@umkc.edu.

Technical support for university-owned PDAs and other mobile devices is available by contacting either  IS Networking and Telecommunication (x1444) or your departmental IT Liaison.

At this time, we are unable to support non-university owned PDAs or Wireless devices for faculty and staff.

It is recommended that departments maintain appropriate insurance and maintenance coverage on wireless phones.

	Obtaining UMKC Funded Wireless Phone

Click on the links below for wireless information according to vendor. Rates and phones change all the time and the links allow the information to always be current.

You must first choose the carrier (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint PCS, Nextel, or T-Mobile). Some carriers may have towers that provide better coverage in places you frequent.

All of the carriers provide some sort of equipment  and plan discount.
