*Note: Log in is the same as your UMKC SSO (Exchange) Account.
*Note: The option which allows you to forward your phone will accept any phone number. However if you enter an off-campus number when a call comes to your phone IT WILL NOT actually forward off-campus and will instead give callers the message that their call can not be completed as dialed.
How to Change Your IP Phone Speed Dials
- Click on the above link, "Click here to manage your IP Phone"
- Log on using your SSO (Exchange) account
- Click User Options, Device Configuration
- Click the Speed Dials button
- Fill in the Phone number (if it is an outside number remember to include the 9) and the Label for the Speed Dial
How to Change Your IP Phone Line Settings
- Click on the above link, "Click here to manage your IP Phone"
- Log on using your SSO (Exchange) account
- Click User Options, Device Configuration
- Click the Line Settings button
- Click the box next to Forward all calls to and then choose either Voice Mail or This Number
- if you choose to forward to a number, remember your phone will accept any phone number. However if you enter an off-campus number when a call comes to your phone IT WILL NOT actually forward off-campus and will instead give callers the message that their call can not be completed as dialed.
- Change the Ring Settings by clicking the drop down box and choosing how you want that line to ring on your phone
How to Access the Corporate Directory on your IP Phone
To get to the Corporate Directory
- Press the directories button
- Select the Corporate Directory option
- Using the keypad, enter in the first few letters of the last name
- If it is a common last name, enter in the first few letters of the first name
- Press the Search softkey
- Highlight the name of the person you wish to call and press the Dial softkey
- Numbers in the corporate directory are taken from a user's Active Directory information as reflected in Exchange. If this information is incorrect, please contact Human Resources to update your PAF with the correct information.
How to Access the Current Weather on your IP Phone
If you have a VOIP phone with a display (Models: 796X and above), then you may access the current weather on your phone:
- Press the Services button
- Select the Weather option
- If you wish to get weather for a different zip code, press the ZipCode softkey, enter a new zip code, and press the submit softkey
Click to Call
If you have a VOIP phone and wish to Click to Call:
- Call the Contact Center at 816-235-2000 and request that the application be pushed to your desktop
OR
- You must be an administrator on your local machine
- Download and install the ClicktoCall Application
- Input your SSO username and password
- Put in umkccm01.umkc.edu as your WebDialer Service
- Make sure the phone you want to do the dialing is selected on the Phones Tab
- If there are no phones available please contact IS Telecommunications at 816-235-1595 to have your phone associated to your SSO
- In Outlook Right click a contact, choose additional actions, and click Call
- In other Microsoft Office applications Right click the number, and click Call
- In Internet Explorer highlight the number, right click and choose Call
Phone Videoconference
If you have a VOIP phone and wish to do a videoconference:
- Call the Contact Center at 816-235-2000 and request that the application be pushed to your desktop
OR
- You must be an administrator on your local machine
- Download and install the Cisco Unified Video Advantage Application
- Restart your computer
- After rebooting any call to another video enabled IP phone on campus will result in a video call being established
- A list of supported Video Cameras are available by click here
- Other web cameras may work but will not be supported
