Support of Technology Located at a Home or Residence
UMKC Information Services provides limited technical
support to faculty, staff, and students working from their home or residence.
If staff or
faculty are experiencing minor software or hardware problems with
University-owned equipment, they may call the UMKC IS Call Center for
assistance. If the problem is not
resolved over the phone, the staff or faculty member will need to return
the computer or peripheral device to the university for repair and contact their
primary IT support technician. Dispatching
technical support to personal residences and to other non-university business
sites is prohibited.
UMKC Desktop Support technicians will provide network
connectivity support for students located in the University Residence Hall.
However, no technical support will be provided for personally-funded home
Valid software licenses must be procured for all University-funded home computers.
