Software Installation Guidelines for the Ideal Learning Environment (ILE) Classrooms Information Services, Multimedia Technology Services (MTS)
has equipped a number of classrooms with multimedia software and hardware. There
is a standardized suite of software on the Instructor’s computer, which
includes the Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2000,
standard Internet browsers, and connectivity software, such as IBM Host on
Demand. Software to operate the
projection equipment is also installed, as well as software for the PolyCom
camera system. All the above software is licensed and maintained by UMKC Information Services. Use of the software must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy as published by the University of Missouri on the web at this location: http://www.system.missouri.edu/uminfo/rules/facilities/110005.htm Additional software can be installed using one of two
methods. The first method is for
Information Services staff, to install the additional software on all
Instructors’ computers. This
method requires notice to Information Services at least thirty (30) days prior
to the beginning of the new semester. Funding
and proper licensing for such software must be secured before the software will
be installed. The software will
then be incorporated in the standard computer configuration and available at the
beginning of the new semester. All requests for software should be directed to the UMKC Call Center at 816-235-2000. |
