Installing UMKC Licensed software via a
Secured Local Area Network Connection

A number of UMKC licensed programs can now be installed using a secured LAN connection.  A LAN connection should only be used for on-campus systems, or when connected to UMKC with a high-speed connection using the UMKC VPN3 client

In order to access the specified directories, you must be a member of the indicated Exchange group.  If you are unsure if you are member of a group, please follow these steps to view your memberships.   If you are not a member of the required group, please register for the desired software program before continuing.

Package / Version Required Exchange Group: Location of the setup software
EndNote EndNote X4 UMKC IS ENDNOTE N:\Install\Licensed\EndNote\X4
Maple Maple 15  UMKC IS MAPLE N:\Install\Licensed\Maple\v15
SAS SAS 9.1.3 UMKC IS SAS N:\Install\Licensed\SAS\SAS913\SetupDisk\Setup.exe
Enterprise Guide 2 N:\Install\Licensed\SAS\Enterprise Guide\Setup.exe
SPSS SPSS 19 UMKC IS SPSS N:\Install\Licensed\SPSS\v19\setup.exe
Amos 19 N:\Install\Licensed\SPSS\v19\setup.exe

All users who are logged in on a University computer using their Single Sign-On Exchange account information should have the N: drive mapped automatically.  All off-campus users using the VPN3 client should also have the N: drive mapped automatically (if not, check your Internet provider's firewall settings).  If you do not see the N: drive, it is possible to map it manually using the following process.

Click once on the Start button and select the Run option

Enter the desired location and filename in the Open: box and press the OK button.  As with any other installation, temporarily stop your virus protection software and close all other programs.
