Windows Live ID
username@mail.umkc.edu is your Windows Live ID, which you will use to
log on to all Windows Live services. Username is the same as your UMKC username (SSO).
Outlook Live email address
Your Outlook Live email address is your official University email address.
Its format is username@mail.umkc.edu, where username is the same as
your UMKC username (SSO).
Forwarding
If you previously had an Exchange account with an @umkc.edu
address, new email messages sent to username@umkc.edu
(your "old" address) will automatically be delivered to your new account,
username@mail.umkc.edu, once you are converted to the Outlook Live service. You do not need to do anything else in order to receive your new
messages.
Moving mail items from Exchange accounts
After you are converted to Outlook Live, you must move any email you wish to keep
from your username@umkc.edu account to your
username@mail.umkc.edu
account. The IT KnowledgeBase has instructions on
how to move data from the old email account to Outlook Live.
