Why UMKC?
This is my second year as a Ph.D. student. I chose UMKC mainly because of the graduate program offered at the Department of Economics. I’ve been at UMKC for close to three years and each year has been nothing short of a great experience for me. The faculty in this department teach the adequate alternative to study social sciences. The department provides a well-rounded environment with students from all over the world and faculty who transmit their passion for knowledge and learning. I really like the UMKC campus and its urban atmosphere; I think its proximity to Kansas City gives international students the opportunity to have a nice experience living abroad.

I originally chose UMKC because I was awarded the prestigious UMKC Trustees Scholarship for my undergraduate degree.
