The University of Missouri - Kansas City offers scholarships to outstanding international undergraduate and graduate applicants who are first time new students intending to enroll (including transfer students from U.S. institutions) to degree programs in the School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) in each academic year (from August to May).
Applicants for programs in other schools should review the Chancellor's Non-Resident Award information.
Students who are admitted to a UMKC doctoral program are automatically awarded non-resident fee waivers for up to 9 credit hours each Fall and Spring semester. This automatic Doctoral Fee Waiver makes students ineligible for a DICE award.

General Description
The Dean's International Computing & Engineering Award ("DICE") is a renewable award that covers a large portion of the difference between Missouri Resident and Non-Resident fees.
For 2011-2012 this will be:
- $8,800 USD per academic year for undergraduate students at 12 credit hours in Fall and Spring semesters.
DICE award is limited to 15 credit hours per semester.
- $8,300 USD per academic year for graduate students at 9 credit hours in Fall and Spring semesters.
DICE award is limited to 9 credit hours per semester.
All applicants meeting the criteria below are automatically considered for a DICE award:
To be considered for the award, an applicant must:
Apply as a first time new student at UMKC intending to enroll with a DICE participating academic unit (School of Computing and Engineering)
Submit transcripts (along with application materials) showing an outstanding academic record (Minimum of 3.0 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 Grade Point Average scale)
Submit a Minimum TOEFL score of 85 iBT or IELTS score of 6.0 (for graduate/MS programs in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering) or 79 iBT or IELTS score of 6.0 (for all other programs: all undergraduate programs or for graduate/master programs within the School of Computing and Engineering like Civil & Mechanical Engineering), unless you are exempt from the English Proficiency test.
Receive a nomination from the corresponding UMKC academic unit
Review  for the total annual 'cost of study' required for your program of interest.
Students must demonstrate the financial ability for the cost of study beyond the CNR scholarship.
Satisfy additional SCE criteria such as GRE scores for graduate applicants.
