International students at UMKC are invited for the 2012 Holiday Season of Thanksgiving and Christmas to visit and dine with UMKC Alumni and other Friends of UMKC.

The UMKC Alumni Association, together with ISAO, has organized a program that will give you the opportunity to connect with an American family. The volunteering families are UMKC alumni, faculty, retirees, staff and community friends who are excited to share their traditions and delicious holiday dishes with you! For most Americans, the holiday season begins with Thanksgiving on November 24th and ends in the beginning of January (January 14, 2012). In between are a number of holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yuletide and New Year's Eve to name a few. How the Program Works: You will be paired with an American family. The family will contact you to set up a convenient time and date for dinner (between the dates of November 24, 2010 (Thanksgiving) and Saturday January 14, 2012). They will be able to provide transportation to and from their home, if you need it. Due to the ratio of International students to volunteering families, we recommend pairing up with a friend or we can pair you up with someone. Pairing with your spouse is possible. However, due to safety considerations, children cannot participate.
Due to volunteer limitations, you may be paired with other international students.
