When is the International Student Orientation?

  • For international students who start in Summer, the International Student Orientation will be in August, after Summer classes.
  • For international students who start in Fall, the International Student Orientation will be in August, in the week before Fall classes start.

    • Where on campus does Orientation take place?

    The Fall international student orientation program will take place in the Student Union on the Volker Campus at 5110 Cherry St. Kansas City, MO 64111. You will see event parking signs as you approach campus to direct you appropriately. You will find parking in the lot across from the Administrative Building at 51st and Oak streets.

    What should I wear to Orientation?

    We recommend that you dress casual and appropriately for the weather. Please note that many activities call for walking around campus so comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

    What kinds of activities will students do at Orientation?

    Orientation is meant to ensure that students feel ready to start the fall semester. Students will get connected to UMKC by interacting with other students, tour the campus and city, and learn about on- and off-campus resources.
    You will be able to get your student ID as well.
