Hours: Open third weekend in April through Labor Day 9:30am-3:30pm daily, except Sunday, 12:30-3:30pm. Labor Day to October 31 from 1-4pm Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday, 1pm-4pm Sunday. Closed last weekend in October, but appointments may be arranged daily from 12:30am-3:30pm, except Sundays. Special appointments may also be arranged at other times.

Scope of the Collection: The collections focus on materials relating to the Wamego area. The full range of life and culture of 1866 to present with main focus on 1880 to 1935.
Description of Collection holdings: We have local newspapers dating back to 1880 as well as genealogical materials. The Museum Complex includes a one room school, old jail, log cabin, the main Museum, and a more than 110 year old Dutch Mill (which mills flour).

Description of Collection holdings: The Historical Society has available for research: clippings of Crevecour's Old Settlers Tales, obituary scrapbooks, Pottawatomie County, Kansas, marriages 1856-1886, census of 1860, 1865, 1870, 1880, of Pottawatomie County, Kansas, cemeteries (list up to 1975) and currently being updated. All of these items are in the Onaga Branch Library, (913) 899-4531, for use and they may not be checked out. In our log cabin Museum are many items relating to the history of Onaga and the surrounding area.
