KCAA
SCHOLARSHIPS
______________________________________________________
KCAA provides two scholarship opportunities to encourage the advancement of the archival profession in the Greater Kansas City area.
The first is the Scholarship Fund intended to assist KCAA members with access to little or no institutional support, to defray the cost of attending professionally related educational conferences, workshops, symposia, and institutes. Grants are awarded to a qualifying member of up to $200 per fiscal year as available. Awardees will be required to submit a brief report (approximately 300-500 words) summarizing their funded experience, which may used for Scholarship promotion purposes in the Dusty Shelf newsletter.
Application for funding may be made at any time within one year of the date of indicated educational activity. Application forms are available from KCAA Scholarship Chair, or online (below) in PDF form. All applications shall be returned to the Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee for consideration. Scholarship Committee will give consideration to merit and situation of applicant and worthiness of the solicited activity per the intent and purpose of KCAA scholarships. Scholarship Chair will notify applicant of the disposition of their request in a timely manner.
Ten percent of each KCAA members' annual dues are allocated to the Scholarship Fund. In addition, KCAA members, institutional members, and friends are encouraged to make a $5.00 or more donation in support of the Scholarship Fund.

The second KCAA scholarship available is the Minority Scholarship designed to promote an increased interest in the archival profession among minority students, thereby increasing the number of qualified minority archivists in our area. The internships are offered each summer at various participating KCAA member institutions. Interns receive a stipend of $2,000.00 for a twenty (20) hours per week, ten (10) week term.
