Resources

One of the most essential things the LGBT Office has to offer is our extensive supply of resources, specially targeted for LGBT individuals and their allies. Whether your need reading material for a research project, a web-site address for a local community organization, a phone number for a national LGBT advocacy group, or just want to join a group with other like-minded students, this is the place to be.

LIBRARY GUIDE TO LGBT RESOURCES AT UMKC
The University Libraries, in collaboration with the UMKC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Office, has created a “Library Guide to UMKC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Resources.” Investigation of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender history, politics, and cultural expression is a fairly recent area of academic study. Using our listed databases and print resources can aid in that research. Searching for personally useful information such as LGBT housing on the UMKC campus or financial aid available to LGBT students can be a daunting task if one is not sure where to turn or exactly what questions to ask. This guide brings together both types of LGBT resources and makes them easily accessible to UMKC students, faculty and staff.
