"Topping Out" Ceremony

Rita Rost, wife of UMKC pharmacy professor emeritus William Rost, was one of many stakeholders to memorialize a white commemorative beam with their signatures during a “Topping Out” ceremony July 28. The beam was one of the last remaining, uppermost steel girders of the Health Sciences Building (HSB) being erected on Hospital Hill.

The purpose of the ceremony was to show construction progress and to thank those who have supported the 227,649 square-foot, $50.2 million undertaking.
