Conservatory of Music student Pablo Sanhueza, who came from Chile in 2003, is one of the leading contributors to the new wave of interest in Latin jazz in Kansas City. Sanhueza is the percussionist for Makuza and a regular performer with the Miguel Mambo Deleon Orchestra at the Westport Beach Club (July 16) and, occasionally, The Blue Room.
