AUPD awards Campus Facilities Management-endowed scholarship

The UMKC College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design (AUPD) will award its first Campus Facilities Management-endowed scholarship at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 at Epperson House, 5200 Cherry St., Kansas City, Mo.

Samantha Cowan, a second-year Urban Planning and Design student, will receive a $650 AUPD scholarship. Full-time undergraduate Architecture, Urban Planning and Design students who have graduated from Kansas City-area high schools and have demonstrated financial need are eligible for the AUPD scholarship.

For the past six years, the Campus Facilities Management (CFM) Scholarship Committee has directed scholarship funds to benefit Kansas City-area high school graduates who plan to major in disciplines aligned with UMKC’s urban mission and CFM’s focus. The CFM endowment provides scholarships at AUPD, the School of Education, the Conservatory of Music and Dance and the School of Computing and Engineering. It also provides a scholarship for Campus Facilities Management staff enrolled in UMKC classes.
