Nursing students get 'jump start' on fall semester

School of Nursing holds 8th Annual Clinical Jump Start for incoming students

The UMKC School of Nursing held its 8th Annual Clinical Jump Start for students on Monday, August 13 at the Health Sciences Building on the Hospital Hill campus. All new and returning students in the school’s accelerated and pre-licensure nursing programs are required to attend to prepare for the clinical phase of the nursing education program. Over the course of the day-long orientation program, the nursing students became CPR certified, had photo IDs made, received immunizations and were tested for tuberculosis, all of which must be done before entering the clinical phase of their education. Health care vendors were also on hand to share information with students about their products and services.
