National Print Exhibition opens September 8

Kansas City, Mo. - The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Art and Art History presents the UMKC National Print Exhibition 2011. The opening reception will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Fine Arts Building's Gallery of Art (Room 203), 5015 Holmes St., Kansas City, Mo., and the exhibition will run through Oct. 29. For gallery hours, visit http://cas.umkc.edu/art/gallery-contact.asp.

Organized by the Department of Art and Art History's Hand Print Press, the exhibition includes works by artists around the country whose pieces combine a variety of media with traditional printmaking processes. Established in 1992, Hand Print Press offers artists and professional printmakers a state-of-the-art studio space for printmaking. The press also acts as a mentoring organization for younger artists interested in the creation of prints.
