New Letters Magazine invites nominations for the 2006 Readers’ AwardsNew Letters Magazine editors want to hear from readers.
“Tell us your favorite essays, stories, and poems from New Letters volume 72 by October 15th,” says editor in chief Robert Stewart, “and we will honor the most popular pieces with a special Readers’ Award in the next issue of the magazine.”
New Letters readers will find Readers’ Awards nomination forms enclosed with subscription copies of the latest issue, vol. 72 nos. 3 & 4, and also linked from the “Editor’s News” box at the New Letters home page: http://www.newletters.org. Readers are asked to select their favorites from among New Letters issues no. 1, no. 2, and nos. 3 & 4 (current issue) of volume 72. Participants in the survey will receive a reduced rate on a subscription or renewal. Robert Stewart and his staff hope readers will take this opportunity to remember their favorites from the past year of great writing in New Letters.
Deadline for submissions is Oct. 15, 2006. Results will be announced in the upcoming first issue of volume 73. The first-annual Readers’ Awards begins a new tradition for New Letters—itself a literary tradition since 1934 (as The University Review, and as New Letters since 1971).
New Letters is published by the University of Missouri-Kansas City and distributed world wide; it is available by subscription for $22 per year (four issues). Call (816) 235-1168, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the New Letters Web site at www.newletters.org to order.
