Financial Times ranks UMKC Bloch School Executive MBA program among top in world

International business newspaper Financial Times has announced that the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration’s Executive MBA program ranks among the top programs in the world, putting Bloch in the company of prestigious EMBA programs such as Northwestern, Texas, Wharton, Duke and Ohio State.

Although there are 350 EMBA programs in the world, Financial Times only included 90 in their worldwide rankings. Within this elite group, Bloch ranks 36th among U.S. universities and 16th among U.S. public universities.

Bloch is the only school in the Kansas City region to earn the Financial Times ranking. The final ranking of each school is calculated on a number of criteria, including the following, in which the Bloch Executive MBA achieved exceptional results:

• Career progress

The Bloch Executive MBA was No. 6 in the U.S. and No. 1 among public universities

• Aims of alumni achieved

The Bloch Executive MBA was No. 19 in the U.S. and No. 7 among public universities

• Diversity

Kansas City can be proud to have a business school with programs that rank among the best in the world. And this is just the beginning – the stage is set for more great things to come.”

“This is a very significant reflection of the quality of the Bloch Executive MBA,” says Michael Chesser, chairman and CEO, Great Plains Energy. “Our company has sponsored students in this program and witnessed the results – accelerated leadership capabilities of our high-potential employees and faster cycles of professional development and promotion. It’s also a great retention tool for employers.”
