Black-Estes, School of Biological Sciences, named a 2008 Student Affairs Honor Recipient Recognized for outstanding academic and service involvementThe University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management has named Jennifer Black-Estes a 2008 Honor Award recipient, one of 10 graduating seniors commended for both academic achievements and participation in programs outside the classroom.
Black-Estes graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
The honor award program was established in 1975 to recognize graduating seniors who excelled in academic achievement, involvement in university programs and service to the campus and surrounding community.
Upon graduation, Black-Estes will attend Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado. Besides her rigorous academic schedule, Black-Estes is a member of the Pre-Medical Society of UMKC and American Medical Student Association.
Black-Estes’ past awards include Dean’s List and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Academic Achievement Award.
The recipients will be honored at a reception and breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m., May 9 in room 106 of the University Center, 5000 Holmes St., Kansas City, MO.
