The School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), the Society of American Military Engineers and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are hosting the First Annual 2009 Greater Kansas City Post Industry Day Education & Training Workshop.

More than 240 people have registered to attend, and the event includes three seminar tracks: Civil Works, Customer Focus and Military Construction. Participants can sign up for one-on-one sessions with each of the district's four program areas: Military, Civil Works, Environmental and Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates will be issued for each technical session.

Sign up begins at an ice breaker event from 5 to 7 p.m. at McFadden’s Sports Saloon in the Kansas City Power & Light District, 1330 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Student registration is free and individual registration is $85.
