2010 Greater Kansas City Post Industry Day Education and Training Workshop takes place at UMKC

The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Computing and Engineering, Society of American Military Engineers and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are hosting the Second Annual 2010 Greater Kansas City Post Industry Day Education & Training Workshop. It will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the UMKC University Center's Pierson Auditorium, 5000 Holmes, Kansas City, Mo. More than 240 people attended last year's event.

The event will include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Engineers from Kansas City, St Louis, Omaha, Tulsa and Region 7 General Services Administration. A technical presentation will take place and participants can sign up for one-on-one sessions with representatives from each of the district's three program areas: Military, Civil Works and Environmental. Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates will be issued for each technical session.

Sign-up begins at an ice breaker event from 5 to 8 p.m., Feb. 2 at Boulevard Brewing Company, 2501 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City, Mo. Registration for this event is free for college students and $100 for anyone else. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
