UMKC School of Law hosts Edward Smith/Bryan Cave Lecture
French judge and European Union high representative Jean-Louis Bruguiére speaks on the fight against terrorism
In conjunction with the International Relations Council and Alliance Française, the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Law presents its Edward A. Smith/Bryan Cave Lecture -"Transatlantic Cooperation in the Fight Against Terror: the French Perspective" on Monday, Feb. 15. The Honorable Jean-Louis Bruguiére will present the lecture at 7 p.m. in the E.E. (Tom) Thompson Courtroom at the UMKC School of Law, 500 E. 52nd St., Kansas City, Mo. An investigative judge with an international reputation, Jean-Louis Bruguiére is the European Union's high representative to the U.S. for the fight against terrorism within the Terrorist Finance Tracking Program. Until 2007, he was responsible for the supervision and coordination of the anti-terrorism section in Paris. Having investigated more than 100 cases of terrorism during his 30-year career, Bruguiére is considered one of the foremost terrorism experts in the West.
