Gallery of Art's fall exhibition now open

En Plein Air Brush Creek Art Walk comes to UMKC Gallery of Art

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Gallery of Art announces its first fall exhibition, En Plein Air. The exhibition includes selected paintings from the Brush Creek Art Walk. The exhibit will be open from August 23 through September 11.

The exhibition’s opening reception will take place Thursday, August 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded at 6 p.m.

The Brush Creek Art Walk was a public art event that ran July 27-29 along the scenic trail from Roanoke Road East to Elmwood.  Painters who registered for the event had just three days to complete paintings en plein air (French for “in the open air”) along the creek.

The juror for the exhibition is Paul Dorrell of Kansas City’s Leopold Gallery.

Fall Gallery Hours: Mondays 1-4 p.m., Tuesdays 11-4 p.m., Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays 11-7 p.m., Fridays 9-3 p.m.
