Going green at UMKC

As part of its environmental movement, the University of Missouri-Kansas City is building a new student union at 51st and Cherry streets that will meet national green standards. Jobs are frozen at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and budgets cuts are on the way. It’s all a result of the failing economy landing squarely on the state’s colleges. Despite that, Kaye Johnston, a part-time UMKC employee and student, is willing to wager that the green revolution on campus will continue to snowball.
