UMKC builds a foundation for its future

A “watershed” event in the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s history may help the urban institution experience a sea change in its status as a civic player. The University of Missouri Board of Curators and the Kansas City Foundation for Higher Education signed a memorandum of understanding on Jan. 15 to form the UMKC Foundation, a private entity that would help raise money solely for the university.
