Foundation that raises money for UMKC hires first executive director

A two-year-old foundation that raises money for the University of Missouri-Kansas City has hired its first executive director. Murray Blackwelder, senior vice president for advancement at Purdue University and a former Kansas City resident, will lead the Kansas City Higher Education Foundation. As the fundraising manager for Purdue, Blackwelder recently led and completed a $1.7 billion campaign.
