Required Materials
FOR PERCUSSION STUDENTS
Rational:
Percussion students can expect to find “large ticket items” such as keyboards, timpani, bass drum, chimes, cymbals, and etc. provided for their use for practice, lessons, and large ensembles. The smaller items such as mallets and “toys” are the responsibility of the individual student. The percussion studio will not provide the items listed on this sheet. Please make sure that you own the following items before you arrive on campus.
A note to students and parents:
Please download a copy of the list. While this list represents a significant investment, many of these items, if properly maintained, will last a lifetime. If you already own these items and they are of high quality there is no need to purchase new equipment. This list is a great starting point and should provide students with the tools they need to get started. This list is by no means complete and students should expect to add equipment throughout their studies at UMKC.
