I am pleased to announce the appointment of the search committee for the Dean of the School of Pharmacy. In keeping with UMKC's practice of asking a Dean to chair Dean's search committees, Lora Lacey-Haun, the Dean of the School of Nursing, has agreed to serve as the chair of this committee. The firm of Greenwood/Asher and Associates, Inc. has been retained to assist with the search.
The 16-member search committee has faculty representation but also reflects several of UMKC's constituents, including representatives from the staff, student body, administration, alumni and community.
We now routinely request that the UMKC faculty senate nominate a faculty member from outside the school to serve as the faculty senate representative on each Dean search committee; Dr. Holsinger is serving in that capacity for this search. Dr. Dace will represent the Chancellor's Office on this committee.
The search committee will begin meeting as soon as possible with the intent to complete the process by the end of Spring 2010.
