The four Pierson Awards are given by the University’s Alumni Association in honor of a 1919 University of Kansas City – now UMKC – School of Law graduate and long-time business and civic leader.
The awards, which honor an outstanding faculty member in each of the Schools of Law, Dentistry, Medicine, and Business and Public Administration, reflect UMKC’s philosophy that its reputation and the success of its students depends on the quality of its faculty; and that meaningful recognition of faculty excellence encourages superior teaching and research at UMKC.
