Assessment Committee

Assessment Committee Charge
As outlined in the UMKC Assessment plan, the Assessment Committee is being formed to encourage, support, and guide the growth of effective assessment practices at UMKC. The Committee will also be responsible for guiding the development and integration of assessment into a university-wide assessment and evaluation system that is effectively linked with planning and budgeting processes.
Some initial responsibilities include:
- Work with the Program Evaluation Committee to integrate assessment with departmental program review in the following areas:
- develop University guidelines for assessment and assist departments with the development of their student learning outcome statements and assessment strategies that are reported in their program review self-study; and
- review departmental assessment plans to ensure that they meet the University's guidelines
- Oversee the development of an annual assessment report for UMKC that
- summarizes the results of key assessment measures collected centrally (NSSE, APT, MFAT)
- includes summaries from the schools/colleges of their assessment results and highlights their uses of assessment for program improvement purposes. Periodically, this report should include an analysis of the effectiveness of UMKC's assessment and evaluation system.
