Research Protections Program
Our mission is to protect human and animal subjects involved in research while supporting and enabling investigators in conducting ethically sound research which is in compliance with regulations.
How We Achieve Our Mission:
- Assist PI's in the preparation of protocols
- Conduct prereviews of all protocols
- Schedule meetings and coordinate reviews (exempt, expedited, or designated review)
- Maintain records for the compliance committees and other research compliance activities:
- Biomedical Institutional Review Board (IRB);
- Social Science Institutional Review Board (IRB);
- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC);
- Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC);
- Radiation Safety Committee (RSC);
- Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA);
- Effort Report (A-21)
Our Team:
- Committee Administrators and Coordinators
- Facilitate the correspondence process between the researcher and the committee and are available to personally assist researchers in completing applications.
- Management
- Promotes and administers the responsible conduct of research (RCR), the human participant and animal subject training initiative in the classroom, workshops and online learning. They also provide technical support for online learning.
- Provides administrative support and management for research compliance committees.
