Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
HIPAA Listserv
UMKC faculty and staff involved or interested in HIPAA are encouraged to join the new HIPAA Listserv maintained by Office of Research Searvices (ORS). Through this listserv, ORS will distribute important information about HIPAA, such as news, announcements, compliance information, and issues specific to UMKC faculty and staff.

In the body of the message type:
Subscribe HIPAAFYI (your first and last name)
Example: SUBSCRIBE HIPAAFYI Jack Smith
The message does not need a subject line and should be cleared of all signature information. The software will automatically glean your e-mail address from the message you send, so you will want to send your subscribe-request message from the e-mail address.
To remove yourself from the list:

In the body of the message type: SIGNOFF HIPAAFYI
You do not need to include your name when using this command. The message does not need a subject line and should be cleared of all signature information.
