Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
Mission of the IACUC
The IACUC is the Chancellor's advisory committee responsible for oversight and evaluation of all animal care and use on the UMKC campus.
An IACUC, as well as the Institutional Official, have the authority and is required by the federal Animal Welfare Act Regulations (9 CFR, Chapter 3), in the National Research Council's Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (The Guide), and the in Public Health Service's Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (PHS Policy), to commit the UMKC IACUC to comply with AWA Regulations and PHS Policy.
This Institution is AAALAC accredited.
