Training

The IACUC training program is posted on the Blackboard server.  This program will track users, date of access, time of log-in, and results of the quizzes taken at the end of each module which a passing grade of 80% is needed to complete training process.  The training topics are broken into different modules. The “general” module is an absolute requirement for all investigators involved in animal experiments and must be completed prior to an approval of a protocol, while other modules are specific and to be taken upon IACUC recommendation after review of the proposed protocol. Both the general and specific modules must be completed by the investigators and necessary personnel every 3 years.

In summary – the modules are as follows:

General – required prior to approval and/or access to the animal facilities

Species specific – (responsibility of the PI to ensure they, as well as their staff, are trained in the species specific areas. – Rodent, Rabbits, Pigs, Frogs and any other species will be added as needed)
