Complete the IBC application along with the appropriate "appendix" that goes with the type of research.

Please Note:
Approval to work with a biological agent or recombinant DNA project is for a maximum period of three years.

After three years, the principal investigator must submit a new application if the program is to continue. If the program will not continue, the PI needs to notify the IBC office.

Research Involving Animals

UMKC IACUC
(web link)
Written notice of such approvals must be submitted to the IACUC before animal use can begin.

Research Involving Human Gene Transfer

Human gene transfer research protocols must be submitted to the NIH Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee (RAC) for review prior to local IBC approval. No research participant may be enrolled in a clinical study until the RAC review process is completed and IBC and IRB approvals and applicable regulatory authorizations are obtained.

If your research involves Human Gene Transfer, please contact Daniel Crabtree (816) 235-5669.
