Staff Council Vision Statement
The Staff Council is an advocate for growth & development of the campus thru leadership training, decision making, group interaction & community service, while creating an open environment of recognition & respect.
UMKC Staff Council History
Staff Council originated in the 1970’s as the Administrative Assembly, an association of exempt staff at the university, which reported to the Director of Human Resources. In the 1980’s, it expanded to include non-exempt staff and became known as Staff Assembly. In the mid-1990’s it underwent a final name change and became Staff Council.
Over the years, it has reported to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and finally to the Chancellor. Created as an avenue toward better rights and benefits for university employees, it has continuously been involved in the ever evolving issues of parking, pay rates, family benefits, educational benefits, and training opportunities.
An equal share of Staff Council’s mission has been to get all employees involved in campus life, campus issues, and to show appreciation in return.

Financial Training Program - here you'll find a variety of classes such as Web Applications, Non-PO Vouchers, Accident & Incident Reporting, Purchasing Cards and PaymentNet, eProcurement, Travel Reimbursement, Journal Entry, Accident and Incident Reporting, etc. Classes are available on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, depending on the class and are NOT just for Fiscal Officers.
RAD System - this is a self-defense training class FOR WOMEN ONLY, sponsored by UMKC Police. Short for Rape Aggression Defense, classes are kept small (6-18 women) and include 10 hours of book work and 2 hours of hands on defense techniques. Here's your chance to yell at an attacker and pummel a man in a red suit (a set of pads). This class is free of charge.

Committee Report Form Complete form and submit to President by 5 pm five days prior to Board Meeting
Purchase Request Form Complete form and send to your Committee Chair and the Treasurer for approval.
Budget Request Form Complete form and send to the Treasurer for approval by Exec Board.
Postage Charge Memo Complete form and attach to outgoing mail sent to the Mailroom for processing.
