The Communications Committee announces the addition of the Committee Blog!

To make it easier for Committee Chairs and Committee members to communicate with their constituents, the Communications Committee has installed a new Committee Blog. Any Committee member can now easily post information about a committee issue, activity, or event.

Board Attendance Policy

Elected board members are required to attend a certain number of monthly meetings to maintain their active member status.  All the details can be found in the bylaws, but here are the highlights:

  • You are allowed 3 board meeting absences in a year (our year runs May 1st - April 30th).  You're not required to tell anyone why you're not there, but if you want to notify someone, the Chair of Nominations & Elections Committee is ideal.
  • If you're going to miss a 4th meeting, email a request for an excused absence to the Nom & Elec Chair.  Probably a good idea to include the reasons why you missed those first 3 and what's going on for the 4th one.
    • If the excusal is granted for a 4th absence, you're good.
    • If it's NOT granted (the committee decides), you'll be dropped to the bottom of the alternate list and your term is offered to the top alternate.
    • You'll also be dropped to the bottom of the alternate list if you don't contact the Chair in advance of the meeting.
  • If you're absent for a 5th meeting, you'll be removed from the governing board roster (skipping the alternate list).
