2010 Starr Community Conversations
The 2010 - 2011 Starr Community conversations "Work and Life Balance in 'Woman's Nation' " have concluded. These conversations featured local panelists addressing the issue of work/life balance in the Kansas City metro area and included the following four conversations:
1. The Three Faces of Work-Family Conflict: The Poor, the Professionals, and the Missing Middle
- This conversation took a deeper, diversified look at local stories of the work/life balance struggles of Kansas City’s “three faces.”

2. Reimagining Policy for ALL Families in the 21st Century
- This conversation addressed reshaping policty to meet the needs of the diversity of families in the U.S.

3. Technology and Modern Families
- This conversation discussed how technology can be used to foster work/life balance for families, as well as the ways it can harm achieving balance

4. Who Does She Think She Is? Balancing Family Life with Creative Careers
- This conversation explored the unique challenges women and men with creative careers face as they bring together families, careers, and artistic fulfillment
