Student Health Pharmacy

The Student Health Pharmacy serves the prescription needs of UMKC students, including but not limited to, those seen by Student Health and Wellness. Common prescriptions filled by the Student Health Pharmacy are antibiotics and oral contraceptives. Some over-the-counter medication is available for purchase. Call the Pharmacy for more information.

Who can use the Student Health Pharmacy

We are currently open to UMKC students only.

Do you have all medications?

The Student Health Pharmacy has most common medications. Other medications may be specially ordered by the pharmacist. We do not carry any controlled substances. Some over-the-counter medications are also available for purchase. Call 816-235-6103 with any special medication questions.

Do Student Health Pharmacy medications have a discounted price?

The Student Health Pharmacy offers medications at lower prices to students, however there are some medications that cannot be purchased at a lower price and therefore the Pharmacy cannot pass any discount on to the student.

How can I pay for my prescription?

We accept cash, check or you may bill your student account for prescriptions.

Do you bill insurance for prescriptions?

The UMKC Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan is accepted and if you have other insurance for prescription coverage, please call to verify that we take your insurance.

How do I transfer a prescription from another pharmacy to UMKC Student Health Pharmacy?

Either call or come by the pharmacy with the prescription number, name of the current pharmacy and phone number. Staff will call the pharmacy and transfer your prescription to the Student Health Pharmacy.

Can I call for prescription prices?

We welcome calls about prescription prices and will do our best to quote a price over the phone; if not, we will take your contact information and get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I pick up my prescription when the pharmacy is closed?

No. A licensed pharmacist must be on duty for a patient to pick up a prescription.

How can I refill my prescription?

Your prescription is assigned a unique prescription number that can be called in to the pharmacy at 816-235-6103 for a refill. You may also e-mail your name and prescription number. Keep in mind that e-mail is not a confidential means of communication.
